iPad Station
Being an educator we all know we have students who get done with assignments, readings, activities, projects, etc. early. Therefore we wanted to let the students who get done early to have a chance to work more with the iPad. This is when Samantha came up with the iPad station. The iPad station is where students can create with the iPad, whether they are creating with apps like iMovie, Garage Band, Photo Booth, or utilizing with the camera by taking pictures or recording videos. This is great because it lets the students get their hands on the iPad and this also builds teamwork. (We do put one student in charge of the iPad each day.)
How to Create Your iPad Station
The way we both created our iPad stations was by getting a TV in our schools, Samantha already had one in her classroom, and I got mine from storage in my school. You then need an Apple TV which costs $99, and a HDMI cord to hook up your Apple TV to your TV. Once you have those 3 items hook them all up, click on ai play on your iPad and you an have your interactive iPad station! This is my favorite part of my classroom and my students also love it!
Bulletin Boards
Life Size iPad
This is the Apple bulletin board, It is a fun board that teaches students about different types of devices that apple makes. There is also a life size iPad that was made to show students about different apps that are common with apple.
Application Tree
This is an Application Tree and every time the students learn a new applications or apps you add a leaf to the tree. Then the students can watch the tree grow, just like their minds.
Build Your Character Through Your Status
This bulletin board we came up with to set the new theme for our classrooms. We tied in all the social media to make it a fun learning environment for our classrooms. It also reminds students to be smart online.
Classroom News Feed
This board is where students look at to see what is the daily schedule for each class. We just added a fun Facebook twist to make it more exciting!
Pinterest- Unit Objectives
This is posted on white board that there is no use for in the classroom. Here we used Pinterest as our theme to help show students unit objectives for each subject they will be learning throughout the year.
Classroom Instragram
This is a podium that was spiced up with a Instragram theme, on here photos will be posted that are taken throughout the year that the teacher would like "posted" on their Classroom Instragram!
